Academic Foundation of Shahinur Islam
My academic background is built on two MBA degrees. The first, in Finance, gave me a strong understanding of banking, business, and financial decision-making. The second, a Global MBA with a specialization in Human Resource Management, broadened my perspective on leadership, people management, and working across different cultures. Together, these experiences have shaped both my professional approach and the way I view challenges, opportunities, and growth.
A Career Built in Banking — 2012 to 2023
Since entering banking in 2012, I’ve spent over eleven years leading teams and managing critical operations. My background includes three years as a Branch Manager and over six years managing major corporate deposit portfolios. Whether handling credit risks or leading project teams, my focus has always been on steady leadership and delivering results.
Transition to HRM & Global Operations — 2023 to 2026
My international experience began with a year and a half in the European retail banking sector, where I gained valuable exposure to diverse markets, customers, and business practices. I later moved into HRM operations within a global organization, expanding my focus from financial performance to people, culture, and organizational growth. In 2024, I Shahinur Islam, stepped into a leadership role as Manager of HRM & Sales, where I am responsible for talent development, employee engagement, workplace culture, and cross-cultural team coordination. My goal is to help align people, performance, and business objectives in a way that supports sustainable growth. This transition was built on a strong foundation. My experience as a Branch Manager, combined with a Global MBA specializing in Human Resource Management, meant that I entered HRM leadership with years of practical experience in leading teams, managing performance, and delivering results in demanding environments.

The Vision Behind This Blog
I, Shahinur Islam have been blogging since 2007 — nineteen years of writing alongside my career, not apart from it. Over that time I built hands-on, technical command of website planning and strategy, website design and maintenance, and content management systems, alongside the research and writing craft itself. Insights by Shahinur Islam grew out of a simple frustration: the best ideas I encountered in finance, HRM, and global affairs rarely made it past boardrooms or academic journals. This platform brings my academic training, my decade in banking, my HRM leadership, and my technical fluency with the web together in one place — well-researched, critically analyzed writing on macroeconomics, technology, and global affairs, meant to help readers think clearly and act with confidence. Alongside these themes, I also write reflective pieces on Islamic insights, exploring how faith and timeless principle can inform the way we think about finance, leadership, and modern life.
A Continuing Story
I have worked as a banker, a branch manager, a researcher, a web developer, an HRM leader, and a retail and sales manager — and I write as someone shaped by all of them. My research and publications draw on that range, which is also why I now offer independent consultancy and digital advisory services alongside my writing. Each engagement draws on a different chapter of my career, and together they reflect how I now work — as an analytical writer, a researcher, and an independent advisor.
